President's
Message
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to
the New York State Association of Health Underwriters.
We will continue to keep you up to date on state and
national legislative issues as well as a calendar of
events offered by the local, state and national
chapters. As we continue to modify and add information,
we also would like to have your input on what you would
like to see, and the information that is important to
you. Remember, we want this to be your resource tool to
you, our member.

Why is NYSAHU Important to You?
When universal health care was proposed several years
ago, there were many articles and debates in the news.
Many agents wondered if their careers in health
insurance were going to end. Many agents began to look
to the many associations they were members of for
support. What they discovered, to their dismay, was that
none of these associations were willing to fight for
them. They needed an organization that would be there
for the agent, recognize their value and fight for their
right to help clients with their health insurance needs.
NAHU is a grassroots organization. It is here for agents
and brokers. It recognizes the valuable role they play
in providing payment for health care in the United
States. It has a very strong legislative arm and has
been influential in the passage of legislation. It
continues to fight for you as the largest health
insurance agent organization in this country.
We welcome you to come to our meetings, become active on
our board and to make a difference.
